By now, you probably know that you can buy an iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S with a standard metal-trach tube.
You can find it on eBay or Amazon, but if you can’t find one, you can build one yourself.
In this article, we’ll show you how to do it, using a basic metal-tubed design and some simple tools.1.
Build a box or cage of metal-tubes.
There are lots of options, but here’s my favorite: a metal box with a large hole in the bottom and a slot on one side that you cut out.
Use a 3D printer to create a 3d printable design.3.
Cut and cut some holes.
You’ll need to drill a hole into the metal tube before you can screw the box in.4.
Build the metal-to-metal connection.
You need a metal tube that can be screwed onto the back of your iPhone 5, 5S, or 5C.
You could build one with a small, flat slot that fits into a standard slot on your phone.5.
Cut a piece of duct tape to connect the two ends of the metal box.
(The duct tape will act as a sealant between the metal and the back, preventing water from leaking into the phone.)6.
Use some duct tape, glue, and epoxy to secure the metal connection.
(You can use the glue to hold it together, but it’s not necessary.)7.
Put the metal back on your iPhone.
The metal box has been screwed in place and connected to the back with duct tape.8.
It’s time to put the phone back on.
You will need to hold the phone up by the plastic cover and bend it over a few times to make sure the metal stays securely attached to the case.9.
Put it back together.
The plastic back will need some extra attention.
This step will allow the case to expand a little bit.10.
You’ve finished your metal-trap setup!
You’re ready to use your iPhone as a speakerphone, or maybe a headphone amplifier, or even a pair of headphones!
